I'm taking a course in computer game analysis at Skövde University, Sweden. For my examination, I'm doing an analysis on World of Warcraft, by looking into the balance between the 8 different races (not including Burning Crusade). My hypothesis is that players can gain an unfair advantage in WoW by choosing the "right" race. So my question to you is what you think about this. Are some races better than others, and in that case how is this advantage used in the game? Try to name some examples, both PvE and PvP please. What race is the best/worst? Or are all racial abilities balanced, just that some are better in one situation but worse in the next one? Also state if you took this into consideration when creating your character. Also, by helping me with this survey you agree that I can publish the results in my analysis. I will not refer to neither your irl name nor your avatar name, but I might quote you if I think it will benefit my research.

jo fast nu svävar du lite utanför :P jag vill jämföra med tex UD mage och Troll mage eller Human Mage. Osv.. Är väl ganska uppenbart. Dorf priests är bäst i pve tack vare fear ward. Humans +5% spirit är ju rätt löjlig, jag menar 15-20 extra spirit är inte skillnaden mellan liv och död. Human priests racial är inte heller användbar. Enda anledningen till att alla inte spelar dorf är att de är så fula. Perception? spelar du pvp är preception inte direkt dålig... sedan måste jag som gnome mage säga att jag gillar +5% mana. Tauren warriors >> gnome warriors dock ganska uppenbart tex. Skulle vilja påstå att FW > Perception i pvp också. tjuuu Tjo jag kör warlock som heter fen , lirar på sylvanas. Allt jag har att säga : Will of the for imba är den lätt bästa pvp racialen att döda ett troll / orc går inte att jämnföra med att döda en undead.. Om man kan spela undead som horde och inte gör detta borde man rent av skutas, i pvp perspektiv. NE präst här Enda jag använder är Grace of elune, men inte mycket. Helt enkelt för att 10% dodge eller -skada från ranged gör inte mycket. I situationer där det behövs tjänar jag helt enkelt mer på att använda andra abilities än Grace of elune. Sköld tillex. NE präst racials är inget som betyder nått, medans Dwarf har något som är användbart för en raids överlevnad (självklart finns det annat som funkar än fearward, men jag tror du vet vad jag menar). Sen har vi orc Racial, 25% extra ap i 15 sec kan faktiskt göra mycket för en fury warrior i pvp tillex, pve också för den delen. Dock så kan de va knivigare att använda den i vissa pve situationer pga -50% till healing effects. edit: Shadowmeld(Nelf) är faktiskt användbart i vissa pvp situationer eller när man går afk, man kommer undan ibland iaf. Edit2: Jag skulle egentligen posta detta som svar till orginal posten. Off topic: Tur va väl att de nerfade aimedshot + Shadowmeld, fast min hunter tyckte inte om de ;) Föresten så funkade Shadowmeld + Hearthstone. Men ud´s undervattens andning är sjukt användbar. gl with project! Idd Fear ward är tokig i 2on2 arena. pve och pvp I pvp så måste jag (som lirade UD warrior) säga att WotF är sjukt bra! UDs underwater är också, trott eller ej väldigt underskattad. När jag spelade på andra chars så drunkade jag nästan varje gång jag simmade ^^ Dwarf prelles är nästan för imba imo. Desperate prayer.. pff... Hur skulle det se ut om man gav den till en warrior med hela T3 X_x. Sen Fearward - usch... Alliance skulle andrig klara sig i pve utan sina fula dvafrs fearward... Orcs 25% + resist stun är också helt störd i pvp. Det är ju lika ofta som man crittar! Trolls racial var absolut de sämsta i hela wow. +5 i throw och beserk som endast kunde användas om man blev crittad. Tur att dom gjorde om så det blev +5 i bow och beserkern när som helst. Men dom kommer fortfarande inte upp på toppen av racials. - ex. Manti the Warrior - Stormscale -------------------------------------------------- Roses are red, Violetts are ross. All you base, are belong to us... Det låter som du missförstått Desp. Prayer Man kan bara heala sig själv med den. Vadå självklart? Själv har jag då hellre... Vadå självklart? Själv har jag då hellre en så gott som instant talent som gör att jag kan ta mig ur roots och liknande. I PvE skulle jag vilja ha 5% mer hp. Beror helt på situationen. Hey i will try and explain the different... Hey i will try and explain the different advantages between different races from a warriors perspective. I played soon 5 different warriors to level 60. Troll - Undead - Tauren - Orc - Human. Ok let's get started with the trolls. As a troll warrior i got 10% of my life back in combat, Which is a nice passive thing too have Beast Slaying: Increase damage bonus to Beasts by 5% Only place i found that really good was when i was questing in stranglethorn valley. Trolls also have +5 skill in bows, and throwing skills. Other than that you got berserking a racial that can improve your attackspeed with 30% ! When i played troll warrior i had it fury specced and i recommend any troll to do the same, 30% + attackspeed combined with flurry is nice Undead my first level 60 warrior, I love them not for the racials but for the " flexible body they got". Meaning they are meant to be tanks, Since they are small and fit in easy in between the mob and the rest of the raid, Its also easy too heal them since they dont block 50% of the raid's vision like they taurens. Anyway their racials that you use are "Wotf" Will of the forsaken, A skill that can break charm undead and effects like that. It can also make the undead immune to those effects for 5 second. Long time ago it was 20 seconds but too many people " Specially human priests cryed for nerfs and they got 5 seconds instead, So now its no immune racial but a " Break spell racial. The underwater breathing is not the most uber racial too have but its funny, and might save your ass sometimes when you are about too get ganked They also got Cannibalize, Which Increase health regeneration while consuming a corpse you get almost full health at the current patch. And the last racial they undeads have are a passive one that gives 10+ shadow resistance. Tauren big cuddly bears with very nice racials i almost would say the best racials a class got in the game so far, However they got a - racial which is -50% vision in the raid, Alot of hardcore guilds hate taurens for their size since they simple do block alot of view, Specially when tanking in crowded areas. Anyway their racials are the following, Endurance a passive skill that gives +5% hp, Which you love as tank, Not because its so much more hp, But a undead warrior with 8k hp unbuffed and a tauren with the same gear will have 8500-8600 hp unbuffed and that buggs alot of tanks with other classes Then we got my favorite racial of all time. The war stomp! This talent are as effective in pve as it is in pvp. PvP example you can gain 3 seconds of time from any opponent as long as he is in range of the stomp. PvE Send the tauren running against 5-6 mobs and let him do a stomp after some seconds and he will not only get aggro from all, But he will crowd controll them very well in aoe situation. The taurens also got +5 flowerpicking skill " Herbalism " and another passive racial that gives them 10+ in nature resistance. Orcs my 2 favorite horde warrior, Very good racials and not too big or too small. They got a passive racial that gives them +5 in skill with axes their pets also do more damage then other classes pets. By 5% i think not really sure. Blood fury rocks as a dps warrior when you dont need to take damage, Sucks for a tank the skill gives you a damage kick bonus for 20 seconds " I might be wrong was a while since i played my orc warrior" But it gives you a healing debuff with 25% or 50% my memory fails me And the last talent a orc got is the stun resist lovely in pvp specially against rogues, I dont think i have duelled any rogue and they that didn't cry about this racial when they lost the duel. Not so badass in pve but great in pvp. Humans i only played a human warrior to 55, I dont like to play alliance easymode They got very nice racials specially for a tank in my oppinion, +5 with swords or maces dont sound too good but when you for example get maldath you will have +9 in swords +10 of any skill is max, So you will greatly increase your hit % on mobs and other players which is very nice for tank. The other racials is not so hot, but +5% spirit is not too shameless and its passive. Diplomacy: Bonus to faction point gain its nice but for a hardcore player its not really so good since those extra points of rep you get is not too hard too farm Perception Very good in pvp, or when you hear a rogue going into stealth at brm, Pop it and press shift and voila you got noob rogue in target. Well this was all from me hope it helps you in your examination. /CrinD ╔╗╔║║╔╗║║║ ║╔║║║╚╗╠╣║ ╚╝║╚╝╚╝║║╔ Trolls är en tokigt underskattad ras Menar upp till 30% ökad attack/castingspeed är sinnes i PvE, även om det är ganska kasst i PvP så är det ruggigt bra i PvE oavsett klass. Visst WotF är ruggigt skönt och ha men en troll fury warrior kommer ha övertaget i DPS tror jag xD Kort cooldown också. Full DS + huhuran stinger körde jag med kombination med ZG trinket och Badge of the swarmgaurd, (reducerar armor), när man stackat badgen med 5 stacks (tar ca 10 sec) drar man en dark rune, berserk + rapid fire och ZG trinket, man gör rent av helt sjuk skada :D Tauren och shaman är sann kärlek då det hjälper otroligt mycket att kunna stunna och bara dra av en heal eller dra t.ex. ghostwolf och fly från jobbiga situationer.
